Highlights of this cruise include:
Hong Kong, China
If your cruise begins or ends in Hong Kong, experience one of the world's archeological gems with a land extension to Cambodia and Angkor Wat.
Shanghai - China
On the banks of the Huangpu River, Shanghai has a long tradition as the doorway to China. There are many dazzling icons of modernity: the soaring Huangpu Bridges, the Oriental Pearl Tower and the skyscrapers of the new development area. But the waterfront Bund is still a reminder of colonial times, and the newly built Yuyuan Mart, though modern inside, is built in traditional Chinese style.
Xiamen - China
An important port on the coast of Fujian province, parallel with Taiwan. Local attractions include the picturesque Shuzhuang Garden on Gulanyu Island, and the architectural riches of Jimei.
Hanoi
An optional excursion through the stunning landscape of the Red River Delta from the port of Haiphong or Hongai takes you to the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi. Visit the One Pillared Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and the History Museum. Lush parks and beautiful wooded lakes lend a delightfully civilized air to the city.
Ho Chi Minh
This bustling cosmopolitan city is a feast for the senses, and our leisurely overnight offers exhilarating possibilities. Within the city, tour colonial landmarks by pedicab. Or venture to Cu Chi to explore the Viet Cong’s amazing tunnels. Farther afield, discover rice paddies, orchards and floating markets as you cruise the Mekong River in a longboat.
Bangkok
Bangkok captivates with contrast. Explore the city's ancient klongs, or canals and the modern Thai spirit is revealed. Tour the grounds of the Royal Palace and you are back in the kingdom of Siam. Our extended call allows you to journey overnight to Chiang Mai, and experience more of Thailand's colorful history, costumes, architecture and cuisine.
Singapore
The island of Singapore is one of Asia's most dynamic nations, a model for blending diverse cultures into a unified whole. Malay, Chinese, Indian and European groups celebrate their heritage, but also take great pride in their contribution to the country's success. It is worth a stay before or after your cruise.
